This section is my fave for all things food and fun. What? Who said healthy isn’t fun? That idea came from back in the day when we had to eat something we didn’t want to, and was told “it’s good for us”. As if that would convince us. It probably still doesn’t, but there are ways to enjoy our food and still get the goodness we need from our food. For the goodness of our body and mind.

Did you know?

…that the human brain can change itself? Not only that, but it can do so through its thoughts and actions. There are scores of personal triumph stories that show us we really can change, given the right set of circumstances.

…that the brain and thyroid are involved in an automatic feedback communication loop? The two work very closely together. If one is off-balance, chances are the other one is too.

…that most addictions – including caffeine and sugar – are a result of low serotonin and low dopamine, two of the brain’s most important good mood chemicals. I call them brain juice!

…that 80% of our neurotransmitters (brain feel-good chemicals) are produced in our intestines? Some say, and I’m one of them, that our gut is our second brain. If our gut is imbalanced, chances are so is our brain. Best to take care of that gut and repair your brain!

…that 86% of depressed people have under-active thyroid glands?

…that foods can cause good moods, bad moods, or false moods because of how our brain is affected by them?
